**This Shelby GT500 is a genuine 1967 Fastback in left hand drive with the correct 7 litre (429cu) engine & all the fine details to make this an “Eleanor Movie” correct GT500 – the best in the UK.
This stunning authentic left hand drive 1967 Mustang Fastback was imported to the UK in July 2010 from the sunny state of Florida. It was purchased from a police officer who had invested tens of thousands of dollars to finish the GT500 complete with the proper 7 litre (429cu) engine. The rebuilt engine, a 429 bored with a 30-over mild cam, arrived with less than 1100 miles on the clock. The late Carroll Shelby even signed the glove box a few years before he passed. When the car arrived at Southampton port it had a powerful nitrous package in the rear as there were no back seats. The the nitrous package was removed and rear seats were installed.
Since its debut in 2010, Eleanor has been listed in the Eleanor World Registry (No. 136) as a movie authentic car and has featured in music and corporate videos.
The lowdown
The 1967 Shelby GT500 was the first model built in the Shelby GT500 range. It’s based on the 1967 Mustang Fastback and is equipped with a 429cu (7.0L) V8. Only 300 were ever made.
Several body parts of the GT500 were made of fibreglass including the side intakes and bonnet. The 1967 GT500 is famous worldwide for its appearance in the 2000 action movie remake of “Gone in 60 Seconds.”
