Car 23 – 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback 5.8 V8

I bought the car in 2009 just prior to a 7 month work sabbatical. The car was a total rust bucket and I spent the next 2 years restoring it trying to retain as much of the originality as possible. The car has had new rear quarters, floor pans, bonnet to name but a few.

Being a Mach 1 the car has some modern refinements such as powering steering and front disc brakes. Engine is a 351 (5.8l) Cleveland fitted with a 4 barrel Holley carb and inlet and sounds awesome.

This model featured in James Bonds Diamonds are Forever In the classic Las Vegas car chase. It was also the original ‘ Eleanor’ from the 1974 film Gone in 60 Seconds.

The car turns heads wherever I go and is my pride and joy!
