When booking a wedding car, several factors should be considered to ensure the vehicle aligns with your needs, style, and budget. Here are some key aspects to think about:

Style and Theme

  • Car Type: Choose a car that matches the theme and style of your wedding and don’t just opt for the obvious!  Here at Ford Mustang Wedding, we have the largest selection of Mustangs to hire across the UK, ranging from the iconic classics to the sublimely sleek modern models.
  • Colour: Ensure the car’s colour complements your wedding colour scheme but if it doesn’t and you just simply fall in love with “the car”, don’t sweat it, not everything has to match and sometimes a stand out piece pulls the whole wedding together!

Budget

  • Cost: Determine how much you’re willing to spend on the wedding car. Consider that when booking with Ford Mustang Wedding, the cost of fuel and having your own personal chauffeur are already included.  The price you’re quoted will be for a 3 hour hire, so there’s plenty of time for photo opportunities!
  • Additional extras: Additional services like decorations and ribbon or listening to your favourite music during the journey are all little touches that can be agreed and accommodated to make your trip extra special.

Practicality and Comfort

  • Size: Make sure the car is large enough to accommodate your dress and any other passengers comfortably.  You can find out the total number of passengers each car can hold on the car page and any further questions you may have, we can help to answer.
  • Accessibility: Check the ease of getting in and out of the car, especially with a large wedding gown.  Consider whether it might be better to opt for a convertible if you have a large Groom or a big dress!

Timing and Schedule

  • Booking in Advance: Popular cars get booked quickly, so reserve your car well in advance!  Our quotes last for one month and we require a 25% deposit to secure the car for your big day.
  • Duration: Determine the length of time you’ll need the car. This could include travel to the ceremony, photo locations, and the reception.  Remember, the total mileage you see on your quote from Ford Mustang Wedding will include the car’s journey from it’s home to you and back again but the time it takes to make those journeys is not included in your hire time.  Our quotes are for a standard 3 hour hire.  Should you need the car for any additional time, this can be agreed at the car owner’s discretion and will be charged at £50 per additional hour.

  • Chauffeur: Ensure a professional, well-presented and courteous chauffeur greets you on the biggest day of your lives.  All of our vehicles are chauffeur driven only.  
  • Extras: Make sure to discuss any additional requests you may have directly with the car owner before the wedding – Ford Mustang Wedding will do all we can to accommodate them.

  • Car Condition: As a small, locally run business we only ever accept cars maintained to the highest standards and kept in pristine condition.  If you have any concerns or questions, you can always request to inspect the car in person prior to the wedding.
  • Backup Plans: Consider backup plans in case the car breaks down or if there are any issues on the day.  

Logistics

  • Route Planning: Plan the route in advance to ensure smooth travel and avoid delays.  At Ford Mustang Wedding, we encourage you to discuss these sorts of details with the car owner in the run up to the wedding – any roadworks or road closures can be taken into account and adjustments to the journey made accordingly.
  • Timing: Confirm the timing and schedule with the hire company, including any contingencies for traffic or delays.

Legal and Insurance

  • Contract: Read the terms and conditions thoroughly to understand what is expected of both you and the car owner, as well as the hire company.
  • Insurance: Ensure the car is adequately insured for the event.  This is a really important factor and sadly, not one that all wedding car hire companies or individuals promoting their vehicles for wedding hire, take seriously.  Whilst nobody likes to think about things going awry on their special day, it’s super important to plan for it and make sure you’re covered, just in case.  Ford Mustang Wedding insists on our owner-chauffeurs being fully insured for wedding hire so you can rest assured you’re protected with us.
